ALUPROF’s MB-104 Passive window & door system has been awarded with the second Passive House Component Certificate. The renowned Passive House Institute in Darmstadt (PHI) has confirmed that both windows and doors fabricated with the MB-104 system can be used in passive building (until now, the certificate covered window frames only).
MB-104 Passive system is used for fabrication of architectural elements in external developments: windows, doors, entrance enclosures, display windows and spatial structures. In addition to excellent thermal insulation, it is also very resistant and has very good noise reduction, water penetration and air leakage properties.
The PHI certificate is only given to products whose thermal insulation performance Ud is lower than 0.80. MB-104 Passive doors have largely met a stringent standard and have obtained a Ud of 0.72, What’s more, the certified joinery product must also meet the air leakage rating 3 to EN 12207 during the climate tests at -15 and 80 °C. – The criteria set by PHI Darmstadt to be met to obtain this certificate are the highest on the market. We are proud that such a reputable institution has confirmed the quality of ALUPROF solutions, especially that only three companies are PHI-certified in this rating – says Bożena Ryszka, Marketing Manager at ALUPROF S.A.
The Passive House Institute in Darmstadt is Europe's most important, independent institute promoting the idea of passive buildings. Doctor Wolfgang Feist -- founder of PHI -- is considered the creator of the concept of passive building.
